Delegation of the University of Adelaide (Australia) Visits NJUPT

On the afternoon of September 19, delegation of the University of Adelaide (UA) including Ms Sue Ng, the Country Manager (Greater China), Prof Mark Carroll, Associate Dean of its Faculty of Arts led a 6-member team to visit NJUPT for cooperation discussion and lecture delivery.

Prof. Zhang Zhihua, the Vice Presiedent of NJUPT extended a warm welcome to the UA delegates. He briefed the guests on the history, faculties and students, advantageous disciplines, outstanding alumni, international cooperation and exchanges of NJUPT, hoping that the cooperation between NJUPT and UA could start from a student credit exchange program and a dual degree program. Afterwards the two universities extend the cooperation into other fields in terms of staff exchange, scientific research cooperation, etc. Ms. Sue Ng, on behalf of the delegation, expressed her thanks for the warm reception of NJUPT. Then prof. Mark Carroll introduced the geographical position, world rankings, disciplinary fields and training of talents of UA. He agreed with the cooperation contents proposed by Prof. Zhang Zhihua, expecting to carry out high-quality cooperation and exchanges as soon as possible. The two parties, having discussed the cooperation model and majors, reached a consensus that a cooperation agreement will soon be developed and signed.

Before the meeting, Professor Cheng-Chew Lim from School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering of UA gave a lecture to NJUPT’s students of related-schools. During the session, the students actively asked questions and Prof. Lim also answered pleasantly, both sides enjoyed the lecture.

The following departments and schools from NJUPT attended the meeting: Dept. of International Cooperation & Exchanges, Dept. of Teaching Affairs, Graduate School, School of Telecommunication and Information Engineering , School of Electronic and Optical Engineering & Microelectronics, School of Computer and Software, School of Sciences, School of Foreign Languages, School of Education Science and Technology.
